Fire & EMS – Technical Requirements

Below are the minimum computer requirements to be able to use the Kaplan Fire & EMS Training programs.

Hardware Requirements:

• Internet connection: 128 Kbps broadband connection or faster (512 Kbps preferred)
• Web browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer (Version 5.5/Windows, 5.0/Mac, or greater)
• Processor speed: 700 MHz Pentium RAM: 256 MB RAM
• Speakers/headphones
• Mouse/keyboard
• Soundcard
• Cookies: Enabled

Software Requirements:

• Adobe Flash Player—For animations: www.adobe.com
• Adobe Reader—For downloading course materials: www.adobe.com
• Java—For site interactivity: www.sun.com
• Windows Media Player – For streaming video, audio or other multimedia over the web: www.microsoft.com
